As with all research, there are those that have contributed personal accounts, memories and historically important documents, such as the ‘Souvenir of the Jubilee of the Battery’ by the late Herbert E. Doolan, Sergt., A.F.A. (No.1 Tasmanian Battery, Australian Field Artillery.) and the ‘Royal Regiment of Australian Artillery Customs and Traditions’ compiled and edited by R.S.M. Christopher Jobson.

I would like to thank, in particular, Norm. Andrews of the Artillery Historical Trust of Tasmania (Northern Branch), Max Frost and Charles McKenzie (with whom I shared a few memories) and Eric Ryan (who also started out with me in 1956) as well as those other past officers and fellow gunners for their reminisences, their encouragement and their valuable input into this ‘Tasmanian Gunner’s History’.
