THE BOOK

A wide range of Australian creatures is to be found in my illustrated children's book: "A is for Antechinus". The book takes the form of an A to Z guide to the alphabet using Australian wildlife and cultural icons to illustrate each letter. A lively rhyming text leads to a sense of anticipation as to what creature will be over the next page. The book is intended as a learning to read aid but will also appeal to adults with a fond spot for local wildlife. Many well known Australian animals are featured (koalas, platypuses, crocodiles etc) as are some lesser known ones such as the so-called marsupial mice or antechinus of the title. A glossary of terms is located at the back of the book. The book is currently out of print.
