Manufacturer: UHA (confectionery) / Kaiyodo (Toy figure) Release Date: 27 August 2001 (Eastern Japan) followed by other areas in September and October Notes: The second Chocolasaurus (or Dinotales) series included 24 figures plus a "secret" figure. The figures were again designed and created under the direction of Matsumura Shinobu, who had already received much acclaim for his Choco Egg figures that had been released by Kaiyodo. The Chocolasaurus figures were released in a prism-shaped box that contained the figures themselves in unassembled form together with an explanatory sticker and a series paper, all contained inside an opaque polyethylene bag. There were also four or five small chocolate drops packaged together, and these were all enclosed in a prism-shaped cardboard box. The secret item in Chocolasaurus Series 2 was -- to give it its Latin name -- a Sphenodon punctatus. However, it will probably be better known to Western collectors as the Tuatara, a living fossil that is still to be found inhabiting the forests of New Zealand. |
