Manufacturer: UHA (confectionery) / Kaiyodo (Toy figure) Release Date: April 2001 Notes: The first Chocolasaurus (or Dinotales) series included 24 figures plus a "secret" figure. The figures were again designed and created under the direction of Matsumura Shinobu, who had already received much acclaim for his Choco Egg figures that had been released by Kaiyodo. The Chocolasaurus figures were released in a prism-shaped box that contained the figures themselves in unassembled form together with an explanatory sticker and a series paper, all contained inside an opaque polyethylene bag. There were also four or five small chocolate drops packaged together, and these were all enclosed in a prism-shaped cardboard box. In addition to the "secret" Tyrannosaurus (White), there were two other special items which were associated with the Chocolasaurus Series 1. One of these was a soft PVC White Tyrannosaurus which collectors could win by submitting the point stickers that were part of the Series 1 instruction stickers. The other special item was another Tyrannosaurus figure that was 55 centimetres in length and which could only be purchased directly from Kaiyodo. The recommended retail price for this figure was 2980 yen (approximately AUD$40). |
