Manufacturer: Cadbury (confectionery) / Kidcorp (Toy figure) Release Date: Notes: This was the fifth series of Cadbury Yowies released, or the sixth when Lost Kingdom Series A is counted. They were sold in Australia and New Zealand, but they were never sold on shop shelves in Japan, unlike other Yowie Series such as Series 1 and Series 3. The series consisted of 30 wildlife figures, but no limited editions. It was the first set in which the number of figures was reduced from 50 to 30, and all subsequent Yowie sets have had 30 figures. It was also the first Austrlaian set to begin featuring animals that were not native to the Oceania region. The release of Series 5 also marked the point where Cadbury and Kidcorp started using the capsules with perforated ends as a means of reducing the suffocation risk if the capsules were accidentally swallowed. All subsequent Yowie series were issued in these perforated capsules. |
