

In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Burberry of the Parish of Newdigate in the County of Surrey, Yeoman, being weak in body but of perfect and sound mind, memory and understanding do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following - First I recommend my Soul to God, and my Body to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named.
As to the Goods and Effects of this world wherewith I have been blessed, I dispose of in manner following - I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Elizabeth, one hundred pounds exclusive of what I shall mention hereafter. Also I give unto my daughter Sarah wife of John Burberry one hundred pounds. Also I give unto my daughter Elizabeth wife of James Briggs sixty pounds. Also I give to my daughter Mary wife of John Andrew twenty shillings. Also I give unto my daughter Jane wife of Joseph Humphrey the house, garden and orchard in which they live in now and possessions situated at Park Gate in this parish of Newdigate aforesaid. Also I give to my sons Thomas, Richard and William ten shillings each all which legacies I desire may be paid by my Executors within one year of my decease.
And my Will is that my Executors are to pay a certain Bond in which my son Richard and myself are jointly bound to William Constable and cancel the same and never demand any part of the sum or sums therein contained of my said son Richard.
And I do nominate, constitute and appoint my above mentioned wife Elizabeth, my son Stephen and my son David Joint Executors and residuary legatees of all my substance in Land, tenurements, goods or anything in any wise appertaining unto me just debts and funeral expenses being first paid.
Now revoking all former will or wills I do constitute and name this my last Will and Testament dated this 22nd day of April 1776.

This will was proved at London the twenty first day of May in the Year of Our Lord 1776 before Reverand George Allen Clerk Surrogate to the Worshipful George Harris Doctor of Laws Commissary for the parts of Surrey lawfully constituted pending the annual visitation by the Oaths of Elizabeth Burberry widow the relict, Stephen Burberry and David Burberry sons of the said deceased and Executors therein named to whom administration was granted being first sworn duly to administer.
